Make a gift or memorial tribute on behalf of someone special in your life
A Gift in Tribute
Making a gift to SOS Children's Village BC in the name of a special person in your life is a distinctive way to celebrate holidays or other special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. You will be asked to provide the name and address of the person and, optionally, a personal message of your choice. This will be inscribed inside a Tribute Card and sent directly to the recipient. Both you and the recipient will share in the knowledge that a donation in their name is making a difference for a child in need.
A Gift in Memorial
Making a donation to SOS Children's Village BC is a wonderful way to honour a friend or loved one who has passed away. With this type of donation, you will provide the name of the person whom you are making the donation in memory of. The inside of the card is inscribed with that name as well as your personal message and 'May the knowledge that this gift will aid foster children in need in British Columbia be of comfort to you at this time'. The card may be sent to the donor, or to a designated person of the donor's choice.
By giving to SOS BC you will receive:
- a tax receipt
- special invitations to exciting annual community events
- a monthly e-mail with updates on how your gift is helping
- a quarterly newsletter which highlights the work of our programs
If you have questions about making a donation, or if you experience any difficulties, please contact our office at 604-574-2964 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*SOS Children's Villages is the largest privately funded child development organization in the world for orphaned and abandoned children, operating over 550 villages in 133 countries each providing responses to the needs of local communities. SOS Children's Village BC is the only village in Canada. We build a stronger community, by supporting fostered and vulnerable children as well as their families with programs and services that help them lead healthier, more productive lives. We believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, loving home. We are financially autonomous from SOS Canada and receive less than 20% of our funding from the provincial government.*
